The SSI Try Scuba program is the best way to try scuba diving for the first time. You will be in confined water and well looked after by your instructor, so you can enjoy those first unforgettable breaths underwater and experience the magic of scuba diving. At the end of this short program, you will have earned your SSI Try Scuba recognition card and undoubtedly want to go diving again. This experience becomes most memorable when shared with your friends or family

If scuba diving isn't everyone's cup of tea, some members of the group can opt for the

SSI Snorkel Diver course or simply swim in the same pool. They can also enjoy other sections of AaltoAlvari Aquatic Centre: wave pool, whirlpool, waterslide, gym and more. There is also a cafe where you can oversee the pool and follow the diving experiment.

Sauna is always a welcome part of this experience. If you want to enjoy the warmth of a Finnish sauna, It's always available after scuba diving, and it's included in the price.

For an additional fee you have the option to rent a private fireplace room with private sauna and dressing room. The cafe offers a selection of soups and salads for lunch, healthy snacks, delicacies from own bakery, and various refreshments.

Price of €65 per person includes

•     Entrance fee
•     All diving equipments and a short wetsuit
•     Diving theory, Pool training and diving experience with a professional SSI diving instructor
•     SSI Try Scuba digital recognition card
•     Access to shower and sauna facilities

You only need to bring a swimsuit and a towel.

The Try Scuba experience lasts approximately 3,5-4 hours, with timespent in the pool ranging from 75 to 90 minutes.

Who can participate?

• The diving experimenter must be at least 8 years old; there is no upper age limit.
• Participating in a diving experiment does not require top fitness; basic health is sufficient.
• You must complete SSI Try Scuba Participant form. If any of the medical history points mentioned in the statement apply to you, you must consult a doctor before participating in scuba diving. In this case, bring medical examiner's evaluation form with you. Be sure to download and review this statement beforehand. If it is not possible to print, you can fill out the form at the event.

When it's Offered?

SSI Try Scuba is available from August to May every Thursday evening and nearly every Saturday morning. Check the upcoming Try Scuba dates here. Choose an event and register for it. Afterward, we will contact you.

AaltoAlvari Aquatic Centre is the most popular sports venue in the city. AaltoAlvari was originally designed by the famous architect Alvar Aalto, so we recommend you take a look around. It is an excellent venue for swimming and other water activities. In AaltoAlvari you can also enjoy the spa section, withc includes children’s pool, wave pool, whirlpool and lap pools, waterslide, cold water pools (+10 Celsius).
